Erratum

Extension of the hydrolysis spectrum of AmpC β-lactamase of Escherichia coli due to amino acid insertion in the H-10 helix

There is an error in the Results section of this article. In comparison with the promoter of the ampC gene of Escherichia coli K-12, the change at position –18 in E. coli BER was mistakenly reported as being a T to A transversion. However, the nucleotide at position –18 in E. coli K-12 is not T but G. Thus, the mutation at position –18 in E. coli BER is a G to A transition. This G to A transition was previously reported in two articles (Olsson et al. EMBO J 1982; 1: 1411–6 and Caroff et al. J Antimicrob Chemother 2000; 45: 783–8).

The authors apologize for this error.
