Successful treatment of pseudomonas ventriculitis with ciprofloxacin

Ciprofloxacin is a new antibiotic, related to nalidixic acid, with good in-vitro activity against Gram-negative bacteria including Pseudomonas spp. We report the successful treatment with intravenous ciprofloxacin of an infant with ventriculitis caused by a multi-resistant P. aeruginosa strain.
